Wild About Reading!

Student packets for the 2018 "Wild About Reading" Indianola Read-A-Thon came home last week. TODAY kicks off our first day of reading for Indy's Wild About Reading read-a-thon. Please encourage your child to read this weekend and keep track of their minutes on the yellow tally sheet. Hopefully your child has already gotten  sponsors, but if not, it's not too late! "

We hope that participating will inspire extra reading enjoyment for students, while also helping to raise money for our school.  


Invention Convention

Indianola's Invention Convention is Coming!!!

If your 4th-8th Grade student is planning on participating in the 2018 Indianola Invention Convention, please email Ms. ElizaBeth immediately at ehall5666@columbus.k12.oh.us.   We will have optional after school drop-in meetings for students from 3:30-5:00 on Tuesday January 23rd, Thursday January 25th, and Wednesday January 31st in Room 212. Students should have already completed the research portion of the packet and be ready for approval and building a prototype by next week's meeting. Display boards will be handed out to participants at this meeting. The Convention date has been moved and will now be held on February 1st from 2-3 pm at Indianola. All finished Display Boards (with research, etc.), packets, and prototypes must be brought to school on January 31st for set up after school. Thank you for your support and participation Indy Families!! 




School Tours

Tell your neighbors and friends: prospective parents are welcome and encouraged to visit our learning community! Tours are on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm through March 27th and are lead by our Parent Consultant, Tricia Porostosky (tporostosky@columbus.k12.oh.us)  Two additional tours will be held to accommodate those that are unable to visit during the school day, on February 7th and March 7th, both at 5:30 pm.  Interested families should register for a tour here.

Lottery applications, submitted through Infinite Campus, are due for middle school by February 28th and for elementary school by March 30th.  At this time we anticipate very few, if any, lottery openings for third grade, fifth grade, and sixth through eighth grade.  This is not guaranteed but could be factored into decision making as families decide which schools to select for the lottery.
